Filmore area, into the historic town site of Poker Flat, along Canyon Creek. (Canyon Creek is on the border of the Plumas and Tahoe National Forests). From La Porte take the Howland Flat road (county road 512/690) across Slate Creek, through Howland Flat. Camping & Directions - Lake Sonoma Resort Area Follow Dry Creek Road approximately 10.2 miles until you reach the Lake Sonoma dam, the road will take a sharp turn to the left and becomes Skaggs Springs Road. Continue up the hill (Past Army Corps of Engineers & fish hatchary) for 1.8 miles; Turn left to stay on Skaggs Springs Road/Stewarts Point Road at the sign, continue for 0.7 miles.
